ENDOVASCULAR PROGRAMS
Endovascular programs give endovascular interventionalists experience with the latest hands-on technologies and help build confidence when coping with challenging situations that occur in daily practice. Crossroads programs promote best practice at all levels of expertise and programs such as the Institute-in-a-Box involving the whole cath lab team with the aim of improving patient outcomes.
Executive Fellowship Program
- Aimed at physicians new to endovascular interventions
- Four modules to be completed over a period of 6 to 12 months; Institute or locally based
- Content includes:
- Module 1: Iliac / SFA (1.5 days)
- Module 2: SFA / BTK (1 day)
- Module 3: Renal (1 day, optional)
- Module 4: Carotid Artery Stenting (1 day, optional)
Clinical and Practical Aspects of SFA / BTK interventions
- Aimed at interventionists seeking insights into CLI and SFA / BTK procedures as primary operator
- Programs of 1.5 days organized at Institute or locally, with an additional module possible in a centre of excellence
- Case review based content includes:
- advantages / limitations of PAOD intervention;
- clinical data review and treatment choices;
- techniques and treatment strategy;
- complications;
- drug therapy and follow-up
Clinical and Practical Aspects of Carotid Artery Stenting
- Aimed at physicians who have performed > 50 peripheral interventions and
- Programs of 1.5 days organized at Institute or locally with an additional module possible in a centre of excellence
- Hands-on workshop content includes:
- indications, clinical signs of carotid disease;
- clinical data review and guidelines;
- clinical case review;
- procedure techniques and procedure strategy planning;
- complication management and prevention;
- hands-on exercises on simulators and flow models
Clinical and Practical Aspects of BTK Interventions, Introduction Program
- For physicians with 2+ years of experience in endovascular procedures, some level of confidence in Iliac/SFA procedures and having little BTK-procedure experience
- Program of 2 modules organized at Institute or locally with theoretical and hands-on exercises (1.5 days) and optional live case follow-up at a Center of Excellence (1 day)
- Content includes:
- Review and discussion of literature on BTK angioplasty/stent treatment, overview of current clinical practice
- Basic approaches, techniques and technologies for treating various Popliteal/BTK lesions
- Review of various techniques, advantages and limitations of interventional procedures in treating BTK disease
- Treatment strategy planning with focus on procedural techniques, use of materials, decision making process, including simple complication management and follow-up
- Case based discussion with interactive voting capability, hands-on training on Virtual reality Simulators and Hybrid Flow Models
Clinical and Practical Aspects of BTK Interventions and CTO, Advanced Program
- For physicians with 5+ years of experience in endovascular procedures, confident in complex Iliac/SFA procedures, having some BTK-procedure experience but wanting to learn more. Also for experienced physicians doing BTK procedures already but wanting to gain more knowledge especially on CTOs
- Program of 2 modules organized at Institute or locally with theoretical and hands-on exercises (1.5 days) and optional live case follow-up at a Center of Excellence (1 day)
- Content overview:
- Review of advantages and limitations of interventional procedures in treating BTK disease
- Discuss latest literature on BTK angioplasty/stent treatment, overview of current clinical practice
- Review of approaches, techniques and technologies for recanalising CTOs with additional use of special hands-on models to optimize learning on guide wire techniques
- Advanced clinical case discussions with focus on procedural techniques, selection of materials, decision making process and treatment strategy planning, including complication management and follow-up
