The Crossroads Institute in Brussels is an excellent venue for teaching both the theoretical and practical aspects of cardiac and vascular care.
Its technologies offer a range of opportunities to gain hands-on experience.

There are 3 main hands-on technologies that serve to complement didactic sessions.

Hybrid Flow Models

Hybrid flow models facilitate training in stent deployment and guidewire manipulation techniques. Offering physicians the monitoring of the accuracy of stent positioning and its expansion in a way that is not possible during angiography. Particularly suited at practicing bifurcation techniques such as Culotte, T-stenting and V-stenting.

Cath Lab

In the cath lab, trainees can learn and practice guiding catheter and guidewire techniques, as well as a range of stenting procedures, in anatomies such as bifurcations and chronic total occlusions (CTOs).

Virtual Reality Simulation

The Institute is equipped with several Mentice VIST-C and Simbionix Angio Express simulators, which allow participants to undertake a diverse range of coronary and endovascular procedures step by step as well as rectifying complications in trouble-shooting exercises.
